Kinder families asked for input about Kindergarten programming
Posted onWe are excited to announce that Kindergarten registration for the 2025/2026 school year will open on January 13 at 8 a.m.
This year, as part of the registration process for Kindergarten at Mattie McCullough Elementary, we are pleased to offer parents the opportunity to indicate their preference for either a half-day or full-day program. In an effort to be as flexible and accommodating as possible to meet the needs of our families, there will be three available options on your registration, including a half-day program, a full-day program, as well as a half-day option with Kindercare based on interest. If we have enough families that request the Kindercare service, Red Deer Child Care has committed to opening a program at Mattie McCullough. To do so, they would need the commitment of 12 families.
A half-day Kindergarten program would include three hours of instruction a day, while a full-day Kindergarten program would include two full days of instruction each week, plus alternating Fridays. A Kindercare program would include three hours instruction with an additional three hours of care (at a cost to families).
Your preferences will significantly influence the programs we offer. Based on the majority selection from families, we will plan our programs for September. If we have enough interest to offer all three programs, that will also be considered. Families will be notified of which programs will be offered this fall by May 1, 2025.
We encourage you to register early and share your preference, which will help us shape our programming decisions effectively. Thank you for your input and support as we prepare for an exciting school year ahead! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
